Quakes Homer Five Times In Win Over Giants

San Jose, CA- The Quakes launched five solo home runs on Monday night against the Giants, scoring four unanswered runs to snag their first win of the road trip, 5-3 at Municipal Stadium.
Rancho did not record a single in the contest as the five home runs along with a double comprised the six hits on the night.
Connor Wong was the first to go deep with a solo-shot off Giants starting pitcher Carlos Sano.
San Jose scored all three of their runs with two outs in the first against Leo Crawford. Wander Franco doubled home a pair and Dillon Dobson singled home a run to give the Giants an early 3-1 lead.
Crawford navigated around trouble through the rest of his outing, leaving two runners stranded in the second and the fourth. Crawford settled with a no decision over five complete innings of work.
Jared Walker inched Rancho back within a run, homering in the third. The Quakes would go on to deliver with game winning blow in the seventh against San Jose reliever Peter Lannoo (1-7). Carlos Rincon and Nick Yarnall jacked back-to-back home runs to jump back in front 4-3.
Connor Strain (1-2) held the Giants in check with two scoreless innings out of the bullpen and was positioned for the win in the series opener.
Giants RHP Hunter Strickland entered on in the eighth as apart of a major league rehab assignment and was taken deep by Cristian Santana to cap the game at 5-3.
Andre Scrubb entered out of the bullpen in the ninth and struck out a pair to secure the save, his third on the season.
With the win the Quakes improve to 13-3 against the Giants during the regular season, 8-1 inside Municipal Stadium.
