San Bernardino, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes completed yet another come-from-behind victory over the Inland Empire 66ers, winning by a final tally of 8-2 on Sunday night.
On the strength of a late crooked number, the Quakes (77-53, 36-26) made history by notching their 43rd road win, a new franchise record.
Trailing 2-1 heading into the sixth inning, Rancho had been held relatively in check. However, that all changed due to the Quakes pushing across six tallies. It was a frame that featured some poor Sixers' defense, a Brayan Morales two-RBI single and a Jeren Kendall (18th) three-run blast to right.
The contest shifted on its head at that juncture, and Rancho cruised to their 11th straight win at San Manuel Stadium.
John Rooney (5-1) grabbed the victory, despite not being as sharp as he had been recently. The southpaw went five innings, surrendering two earned runs.
Luke Lind (1-2) was saddled with the loss out of Inland Empire's bullpen. The right-hander gave up five runs (six earned) on four hits in one inning of work.
For the final road game of the season, Rancho will call upon LHP Austin Hamilton (6-3) to take the ball, while Inland Empire gives the nod to RHP Travis Herrin (3-6).
The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, August 27th, where it will be your final chance to see Rancho play in the regular season with the final home stand of the year... until the PLAYOFFS.
