Rancho Cucamonga, CA – The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes were victimized by the long-ball on Wednesday night, as the Inland Empire 66ers smacked three home runs on their way to a 6-4 win over the Quakes at LoanMart Field

Jeremiah Jackson put the 66ers ahead to stay in the fifth, as he lined a three-run shot into the trees in left-center off of Adolfo Ramirez (1-2).

Rancho hit two round-trippers of their own, as Jonny DeLuca (3) and Eddys Leonard (3) both went deep in the fourth, giving the Quakes a temporary 2-1 lead against eventual winner Jose Salvador (1-1).

The Jackson blast gave the Sixers a 5-3 lead and they never looked back. Jackson struck again in the seventh, as he laced a run-scoring triple to right-center, giving Inland Empire a 6-3 lead.

The Quakes battled back in the eighth, taking advantage of an error and a wild pitch, as Brandon Lewis eventually scored on an RBI hit by Alex De Jesus, making it 6-4.

In the ninth, the Quakes got the lead-off man aboard, but Inland Empire reliever Dakota Donovan slammed the door for his first save of the year by striking out the next three hitters.

AJ Pollock went 1-for-2 with a run scored in his final rehab game for the Quakes.

Rancho (13-12) now leads Inland Empire by just one game in the standings and will host the 66ers again on Thursday night. Right-hander Gavin Stone (0-0) will throw for the Quakes, while the Sixers will counter with lefty Ryan Smith (2-1). Game time is 6:30pm from LoanMart Field.
