Rawhide Win First Half Finale, 6-2

June 15, 2014

SAN BERNARDINO--The Rawhide ended the First Half on a winning note, defeating Inland Empire 6-2 at San Manuel Stadium on Saturday night.

The Rawhide started quickly, scoring a run in the 1st on an RBI sacrifice fly by Steve McQuail, and then plating 2 on a home run by Brandon Jacobs in the 2nd.

Inland Empire struck back for 2 in the bottom of the 3rd against Rawhide starter Aaron Blair, but Blair settled in from there, retiring the last 11 batters he faced. Blair threw 7 total innings, allowing just 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 9 and walking just 1.

The Rawhide added a run in the 4th (on an RBI single by Ronnie Freeman), another in the 5th (on a double play which scored Rudy Flores), and one more in the 9th (on a wicked, perfectly placed bunt single by Fidel Pena).

Rudy Flores led the Rawhide offense with 4 hits, and Brandon Jacobs had 3.

J.R. Bradley pitched the final 2 innings for the save.

The Rawhide ended the first half with a 36-34 record. After 4 days off, the 2nd Half begins on Thursday night, when the 'Hide begin a 4-game series and homestand against the San Jose Giants! Get your tickets right here at RawhideBaseball.com.
