(Reading, PA) - Minor League Baseball today announced that the Reading Fightin Phils, the proud double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, made the list of Top 25 teams in licensed merchandise sales for 2017. The numbers are based on total licensed merchandise sales from January 1 - December 21, 2017. Minor League Baseball set a record with more than $70.8 million in retail sales, a combined effort from all 160 teams.
"The Reading Fightin Phils are proud and honored to be recognized as one of the top teams in all of Minor League Baseball in regard to merchandise", said Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "When a fan chooses to wear your logo, they are choosing to "fly your flag" for all to see. We have a passionate, deep rooted fan base, and we are humbled that our fans choose to fly the Reading Fightin Phils flag in such great numbers."
Twenty-one different major league organizations were represented by teams on the list, with only the Philadelphia Phillies, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres and the Miami Marlins placing two affiliates in the Top 25.
