Fightins come from behind to win finale

Reading trailed early 2-0 before rallying back to win 4-2

The Fightin Phils (17-10) cap off the road trip by coming from behind to beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (9-16) 4-2 on Thursday afternoon. Nick Pivetta (2-2) earned his second win of the season.  

New Hampshire got on the board off Pivetta in the bottom of the fourth inning. Pivetta had only given up two hits through the first three innings before running into trouble in the fourth. Shane Opitz led off the inning with a double then moved to third base on a single by Rowdy Tellez. Matt Dean hit a RBI single then K.C. Hobson hit a RBI double to give the Fisher Cats a 2-0 lead.

Reading got a run back in the top of the fifth inning against Fisher Cats starter Jeremy Gabryszwski. Angelo Mora hit a RBI single that scored Aaron Brown and cut the lead to 2-1. KC Serna tied the game off Fisher Cats reliever Chris Smith in the top of the sixth inning with a RBI double. Logan Moore gave the Fightin Phils a 3-2 lead two-batters later as he hit a RBI double to score Serna

Jake Fox added a run in the top of the seventh inning as he hit a sacrifice fly off Smith to give Reading a 4-2 lead. Jeremy Bleich tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Pivetta. Pivetta allowed two runs off eight hits in 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts. Miguel Nunez tossed two scoreless inning in relief for his first AA save.    

The Fightin Phils are back home on Friday night as they begin a six-game home stand. First pitch will be at 7:05 pm. Fans can listen to the game on Sports Radio AM 1240/FM 98-5 and fightins.com beginning at 6:05 pm. Fans can also view the game on MiLB.tv.
