Carlos Carrasco was signed as an international free agent on November 25th, 2003 by the Philadelphia Phillies. He made his way to Baseballtown four years later.
Carrasco appeared in 34 games (32 starts) over his two years in Reading. In 2007 he had some growing pains going 6-4 with a 4.86 ERA over 114 innings; however, he had 49 strikeouts to 46 walks. Carrasco turned it around 2008 going 7-7 with a 4.32 ERA in 114.2 innings striking out 109 and walking only 45.
His turnaround was important in his development and made him the key piece in the Cliff Lee trade. Carrasco is currently in his 9th year in the majors, all with the Indians, and is a combined 75-58 with a 3.77 ERA.
