BOX SCORE - Hartford 1, Reading 8

The Reading Fightin Phils took Saturday nights game 8 to 1 over the Harford Yard Goats in front of over 8,000 fans at FirstEnergy Stadium. In an incredible display, the R-Phils had seven extra base hits and only gave up three hits in nine innings.

Matt Vierling started things off with a home run to right field in the bottom of the first.

In the second, Jack Conley's double plated Luke Miller. In his first at-bat in Double-A, Jack Perkins tripled all the way to the wall in center field to score Miller.

The team kept the offense going in the third. Both Vierling and Jorge Bonifacio reached on singles and a run came home thanks to Madison Stokes. A triple off the bat of Dalton Guthrie sent in two more runs making it 6 to 0 Reading.

Hartford's Taylor Snyder sent his fourth of the series over the fence for the Yard Goats only run of the night.

The offense was not done yet for the R-Phils. In the bottom of the eighth, Guthrie hit his first homer since opening night that splashed into the pool and allowed Bonifacio to come home.

Perkins also got his first Double-A start of the season allowing just three hits and one earned run. Kyle Dohy came out of the 'pen and was followed by Braden Zarbnisky, as they both threw two scoreless frames each. Billy Sullivan took the ninth to close, holding tight to his 0.00 ERA.
