Catcher Mitch Garver has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Hotel Player of the Week for July 3-9, and also named the International League Batter of the Week for the same period.

He led the league in home runs, total bases (26), runs scored and slugging (.929) while tying for the league-lead in extra-base hits (7) during the week, which began June 3. Garver capped his week with his second career three homer day, going deep three times on Sunday vs. Syracuse to end the pre-All-Star break schedule. He became the first Red Wing to hit three home runs at home since Cal Ripken, Jr. at Silver Stadium on April 27, 1981 vs. Charleston. The other time Garver went yard three times was with Single-A Cedar Rapids on July 21, 2014 vs. Fort Wayne.
