Reggie, Rickey headline Field of Dreams Game

For the second year, Pepsi MAX hosted one of the largest gatherings of MLB legends at the 2013 Pepsi MAX MLB Field of Dreams Game. This year's game took place in Rochester, NY on Saturday, May 18 at Frontier Field, featuring an AL vs. NL match-up with MLB legends and the consumer winners from the Pepsi MAX MLB Field of Dreams promotion.

The MLB greats taking the field representing the American League include: Wade Boggs, Rickey Henderson, Reggie Jackson, Pedro Martinez and Frank Thomas; while the National League team will include: Johnny Bench, Trevor Hoffman, Fred McGriff, Mike Schmidt and Ozzie Smith.

Last year, Rochester, N.Y. resident Johnny Perotti and Washington, D.C. resident Stephen Katchmark were selected as the consumer winners in the second year of the Pepsi MAX MLB Field of Dreams promotion and now have the chance to play a baseball game with some of their all-time favorite players. During the hometown voting competition, Perotti edged out Katchmark to bring the game to Rochester. As the home team, Perotti and five of his friends will join the AL MLB legends to take on Katchmark, his five friends and the NL MLB legends.

This event is a Pepsi MAX/Major League Baseball event, and some of the game day specifics may be different from a typical Red Wings game. If you're attending the game here Saturday, here are some important updates:

Autographs: There is no formal autograph session before, during or after the game. The MLB Legends may choose to sign at their own discretion.

Batting practice: National League Legends 4:30-5 p.m.; American League Legends 5-5:30 p.m.

Dugouts: The American League team will be in the first base (Red Wings) dugout, the National League team in the third base dugout.

Food and Beverage: All Frontier Field concession stands will be open for this event.

Gates The gates open at 4:00 p.m., with the game beginning at 6:05 p.m.

General Admission: All seats are general admission. There are no reserved seats for this event.

Parking: The Oak Street Kodak parking lot (Lot D) will open for parking at 9 a.m. The Morrie Silver Way Kodak parking lot (Lot C) will open for parking at 2 p.m. Parking is $6 per vehicle. Click here for a map of parking locations and directions.

Merchandise: The Red Wings Team Store will be open during the game. Official Major League Baseballs will be available for purchase, along with an assortment of 8 x 10 photos of some of the legends participating in the game, at our Team Store table in the main breezeway.

Picking up tickets you have already ordered on Saturday May 18: Fans may use any Ticket Office window to pick up Will Call tickets on Saturday, May 18 beginning at 10 a.m.. The Comfort Windows Will Call Booth will not be open for this event.

Programs: The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a free program.

Purchasing tickets on Sat. May 18 - Tickets are on sale in person at the Frontier Field Ticket Office beginning at 10 a.m. and by phone with a credit card at (585) 423-WING (9464). All tickets are general admission and $20 each. Tickets will not be sold at Wegmans or on-line the day of the event.

Restricted items: No bags or backpacks larger than 11" x 17" will be permitted in the ballpark. All backpacks, bags and purses are subject to search by security. Fans may not bring baseball bats of any size into the ballpark. Cameras are permitted, but tripods or monopods are not. Lawnchairs and coolers are not permitted. Food and beverages may not be brought into the ballpark.

Suite Entrance: The Suite Entrance will be available only to fans who have suite level tickets for May 18, beginning at 4 p.m. All other fans will need to use the Main Gate/Morrie Silver Way entrance or the Plymouth Avenue gates to enter.

Tickets for the Pepsi MAX MLB Field of Dreams Game are on sale at the Frontier Field Ticket Office, by phone with credit card at (585) 423-WING (9464), and online by clicking here. Please note: there is a limit of 4 tickets sold per customer. Tickets can also be purchased at area Wegmans stores while supplies last. All tickets are General Admission and cost $20 each. Game time is 6 p.m., with the gates opening at 4 p.m.

Fans can get one free ticket to the Field of Dreams Legends Game by purchasing two 12-packs of Pepsi product at Rochester area Wegmans stores, beginning Saturday, April 13. Look for the Field of Dreams Game display at Wegmans beginning April 13 for more details. Limited time offer. Tickets will no longer be available at Wegmans after 4 p.m. Friday, May 17 . After 4 p.m. May 17, tickets will only be available through the Red Wings Ticket Office.

In 2012, Pepsi MAX created a real-life "Field of Dreams" at Huntington Park in Columbus, OH for the inaugural Pepsi MAX MLB Field of Dreams Game and will transform Frontier Field for this year's event.
