Romero named Batavia Downs POTW

 

Rochester Red Wings infielder Deibinson Romero has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Racetrack Player of the Week for the period of June 9-15.

For the week, Romero batted .381 (8-for-21) with 3 runs scored, 3 doubles, and 2 RBI. Affter going 1-for-5 Sunday, he now has a hit in 16 of his last 19 games, hitting .348 (24-for-69) with 6 doubles, one home run and 10 RBI. Over his last 18 games at Frontier Field, he's batting, .356 (26-for-73) with 7 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 10 R, and 14 RBI.

Batavia Downs Racetrack, America's oldest lighted harness track, features live races beginning July 23 until December 6. There will be Sunday afternoon racing at Batavia Downs from July 27 through August 31 with a 1:15 p.m. post. Matinees are also scheduled for Labor Day, September 1 and Columbus Day, October 13 also with 1:15 p.m. starts.
