Turley named Batavia Downs POTW

Pitcher Nik Turley has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Hotel Player of the Week for June 5-11. He was also chosen as the International League Pitcher of the Week, and Minnesota Twins Minor League Player of the Week.

Turley was recalled from Double-A Chattanooga to start for the Wings on June 6, and struck out a Frontier Field record 15 batters in six scoreless innings against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 15 strikeouts were the most by a Red Wings pitcher since 1988, and within three of the all-time club record of 18 set by Roric Harrison. Turley was also named the Twins minor league Player of the Week for his 15-strikeout performance on June 6.
Turley had his contract purchased by the Twins and made his major league debut on June 11.

Batavia Downs Racetrack
Batavia Downs Racetrack, America's oldest lighted harness track, features live races beginning July 26 until December 16. There will be Sunday afternoon racing at Batavia Downs from July 30 through August 27 with a 1:15 p.m. post.
