Former Redbirds In The MLB Playoffs
Thirty-two former members of the Memphis Redbirds are currently competing for a World Series championship in the MLB playoffs.
The majority of that group are 24 members of the St. Louis Cardinals, Memphis' Major League affiliate. A majority of the Cardinals' Division Series roster have played in Memphis during their careers, including six members of the Redbirds' 2013 club, excluding David Freese.
The Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Indians have two former Redbirds on their postseason roster with the exception of Brad Mills (Memphis Chicks, 1980), Bryan Price (Memphis Chicks, 1997) and Tim Wallach (Memphis Chicks, 1979). The Atlanta Braves and Oakland Athletics boast one former Redbird on their roster.
There are no former Redbirds on the postseason rosters of the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, or Tampa Bay Rays.
