Redbirds Inaugural RBI Invitational Set For June 26

Participants To Golf With Redbirds; Proceeds Benefit Memphis Redbirds Foundation
February 22, 2013

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds Baseball Foundation is proud to announce the Inaugural 2013 Redbirds RBI Invitational golf outing this summer on Wednesday, June 26 at TPC Southwind, matching current Redbirds players with participants during an 18-hole golf tournament scramble. All tournament proceeds will benefit the Foundation's RBI (Reviving Baseball In The Inner City) Program

"We're very excited about the upcoming RBI Invitational," said Foundation chairman Ray Pohlman. "Proceeds from this inaugural event allow the Memphis Redbirds Baseball Foundation to continue our mission of providing baseball within the inner city of Memphis while giving back to the community."

Consisting of a scramble format, the RBI Invitational will feature a 12:00 p.m. registration, silent auction, and driving range accessibility followed by a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Teams for the Wednesday tournament will be comprised of foursomes, while select three-person teams will be partnered with a current Redbirds player to create four-person groups.

Team registration begins on Monday, April 1, and is limited to 15 foursomes.

Each team's registration package includes a round of golf, green fees and cart, complimentary food and beverages, Invitational gift bag, and opportunity to meet, mingle, and golf with members of the Memphis Redbirds.

Five levels of sponsorship opportunities are available. Sponsoring companies will receive event recognition and prominent exposure, placement of company name and logo on select signage and tee gifts, opportunity to golf with Redbirds players, and invitation to enjoy a post-outing Reception Party in a luxury suite during the Redbirds' game on Friday, June 28.

Each year, the RBI program offers a safe, summer activity for inner-city children in the Memphis area by providing baseball instruction, uniforms, equipment and meals to participants, as well as tickets to watch the Redbirds play at AutoZone Park. Approximately 1,100 Memphis-area youth participated and several RBI alumni returned to coach in 2012.
