Redbirds To Host 'Bird Watching Event On April 2

Fans Are Invited To Watch The Team During Open Practice At AutoZone Park

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds will host their fourth annual 'Bird Watching event from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2 at AutoZone Park. Fans are welcome to enjoy the afternoon under the sun while watching the future stars of the St. Louis Cardinals take batting practice and prepare for the upcoming season opener on April 4 (weather permitting).

Fans will receive free admittance into the ballpark that day and will be provided with complimentary hot dogs, nachos and soda.

The team will be available for questions from approximately 11:35 a.m.-12:15 p.m. before 'Bird Watching and batting practice begins.

Media personnel will not be allowed on the field or in the clubhouse without a credential. Completed media applications should be submitted as soon as possible, and credentials can be picked up at the box office upon entry into the ballpark.

Seasons tickets are still available and Redbirds representatives will be on hand to assist with any questions. The Redbirds again will be offering $2 refills on beer and soft drinks for Champions Club members during the 2013 season.

The Redbirds begin their 2013 Pacific Coast League season on Thursday, April 4 at AutoZone Park with a 7:05 p.m. opener against the Oklahoma City RedHawks, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. The first 5,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a 2013 magnet schedule presented by Victory University.

Memphis' tentative opening day roster will be announced at a later date before the season begins.
