Memphis attached Pineyro early in the top of the first inning. Mick Martini doubled to lead off the ballgame, his 16th of the season.
Reno responded quickly with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the first.
Pineyro allowed three more runs in the second and third inning combined, giving Memphis a 5-3 advantage heading into the bottom half of the third. Walker again ignited the Reno offense with his 28th double of the season on a line drive to left field. With Walker on second base, Borenstein drove in his third RBI of the contest with a missile to left, narrowing the Memphis lead to 5-4.
