Aces Return for Final Homestand, Host Rainiers

Fresh off a six-game road trip against the Las Vegas Aviators, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, the Reno Aces will return to Greater Nevada Field for the final homestand of the 2022 season, a three-game set against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

SCOUTING TACOMA

The Rainiers recently completed a six-game homestand against the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, and took four out of the six games.

Zach Green leads Tacoma’s offense with 18 homers and 51 RBI. The infielder is hitting .313 against southpaw pitchers this season with seven dingers and 17 RBI.

Darren McCaughan headlines Tacoma’s rotation with an 8-8 record, 4.49 ERA and 137 strikeouts in 148.1 innings pitched.

Out of the bullpen, Nick Ramirez has been a proven asset with a 2.98 ERA and leads the Pacific Coast League with 15 saves.

ACES HIGH

The Aces currently own a 10-8 record against the Rainiers this season. In their last series against Tacoma, the Aces split the series with three wins apiece. During that six-game slate, Jancarlos Cintron batted .473 (9-for-19) in five games with two doubles and three runs scored. On the mound, Tyler Holton was dominant in relief with 2.1 scoreless innings, allowed no hits, no walks and fanned five batters in two relief appearances.

In their recent series against Las Vegas, Dominic Canzone swung a hot bat and hit .400 (8-for-20) in five games with four homers, nine RBI and seven runs scored against Las Vegas. The outfielder has bashed four homers, driven in 14 runs, and sports a .333 batting average in 16 games played this month.

Jake Hager started in four games against the Aviators and hit .474 (9-for-19) with a homer, six RBI and three runs scored.

Blaze Alexander batted .300 (6-for-20) in five games with a pair of homers, four RBI and seven runs scored against Las Vegas.

In four games, Jancarlos Cintron hit .333 (6-for-18) and drove in three runs with four runs scored. On the road this season, Cintron is hitting .323 with three homers and 21 RBI in 34 games.
