The Reno Aces earned three wins against the Albuquerque Isotopes last week in the back end of their 12-game road trek. Out of the 12 contests, Reno went a combined 9-3 against the Las Vegas Aviators and Albuquerque Isotopes.

A three-RBI night from Dominic Canzone and a strong team pitching effort fueled Reno’s 5-1 victory over Albuquerque Wednesday night. Canzone led Reno’s offensive attack with a 2-for-3 performance, drove home three and swiped two bases. The Aces grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the second, capped off by an RBI double from Corbin Carroll. In the third inning, Canzone brought home two runs with an RBI single to stretch Reno’s lead to 4-0. On a true bullpen day, Reno’s relievers held the Isotopes to just one earned run on four hits throughout the game. Luis Frias earned his third win after the right-hander hurled two scoreless innings on one hit and struck out three batters.

In game two of Saturday’s twin bill, Reno’s bats struck late for a 7-4 win. Down 4-1 in the fifth inning, the Aces closed the gap with a three-run inning highlighted by a two-run double from Stone Garrett to tie the game at four. The Aces went ahead in the top of the eighth with a three-run frame capped off by a two-run single from Yonny Hernandez to secure the 7-4 win. The victory was awarded to J.B. Wendelken after the Savannah, Georgia native tossed two shutout innings in relief, allowed one hit, no walks and struck out three batters.

Brandon Pfaadt provided a sparkling start Sunday night with six innings of one-run ball, allowed a season-low one hit, walked two and struck out 10 to earn his second win as an Ace. Tied at one in the fifth, Jake Hager drove a two-run shot to left for a 3-1 advantage. Jose Herrera added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh with a two-run single to give the Aces a 5-1 lead. The save was awarded to Mitchell Stumpo as the Guilford College product recorded the final out of the game with the bases loaded in the ninth.
