Brett's Big Leaguers Program Returns

March 27, 2012
RENO, Nev.– For the third-straight season, the Reno Aces Baseball Club and Manager Brett Butler will present the Brett's Big Leaguers program at Aces Ballpark, the organization announced today.

The Aces once again will partner with the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation in the initiative, which aims to benefit the lives of seriously ill children and their families throughout Northern Nevada.

Participants and their families are treated to a once-in-a-lifetime day at the ballpark, which includes one-on-one interaction with Aces players. The children are given the opportunity to meet with Butler-a cancer survivor himself-as well as throw out the ceremonial first pitch and exchange the lineup card at home plate with each manager and umpire. The families are provided with game tickets from the Aces and dinner from Levy Restaurants.

"Brett's Big Leaguers has become a very popular program for families in Northern Nevada who have had a child battle cancer," said Leslie Katich of the NNCCF. "For a brief moment, families can leave their worries at the gate and focus on childhood memories that they can cherish forever."

The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life for children with cancer and their families by providing financial assistance and compassionate support programs, while advocating for increased research funds and raising public awareness.
