Albuquerque, N.M. – After dropping the first game of the twin bill by a 4-2 score, the Reno Aces (62-48) used some late inning magic in game two to defeat the Albuquerque Isotopes (49-58) in a 7-4 victory Saturday night at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park.

Game Two

Trailing 4-1 in the fifth, the Aces drew three runs capped off by a two-run double from Stone Garrett to tie the game at four apiece.

After a three-inning scoring stalemate, Reno’s starting nine produced a three-run eighth highlighted by a two-run single from Yonny Hernandez to give the Aces a 7-4 lead.

J.B. Wendelken held the Isotopes scoreless in the bottom of the eighth to secure the 7-4 victory and earned his fourth win of the season.

Game One

In the first game of Saturday’s twin bill, Reno’s batters made a late bid in the eighth but fell short in a 4-2 loss to Albuquerque.

Down 4-0, the Aces answered late with a two-run eighth highlighted by an RBI triple from Hernandez to trim Albuquerque’s lead to 4-2.

Despite the two-run deficit, the Aces could not close the gap in a 4-2 loss.

The loss was charged to Corbin Martin (6-4) after the right-hander allowed an earned run on a hit, no walks and struck out a batter in 0.1 innings of work.
