Memphis Downs Aces in Game One of Four-Game Series

Reno, Nevada -  Game one of the four-game set against the Memphis Redbirds could have gone better for the Biggest Little baseball team. Memphis defeated Reno by a score of 10-4 thanks to 18 total hits and a five-run eighth inning. The loss drops the Aces to an overall record

Reno, Nevada -  Game one of the four-game set against the Memphis Redbirds could have gone better for the Biggest Little baseball team. Memphis defeated Reno by a score of 10-4 thanks to 18 total hits and a five-run eighth inning. The loss drops the Aces to an overall record of 26-34 on the year and improves the Redbirds to 26-36. Juniel Querecuto led the way offensively for Reno, finishing 4-for-5 with a double. Edmundo Sosa finished a single shy of the cycle (3-for-6) and all but two Memphis starters recorded a hit. Right-hander Taylor Widener will face off tomorrow night against the St. Louis Cardinals top prospect Alex Reyes. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. and gates are scheduled to open at 5:35 p.m.

Super Smash Bro's: Both Kevin and C.J. Cron homered in the Major Leagues tonight. Kevin hit a three-run shot for the Diamondbacks and C.J. hit a solo homer for the Twins. The brothers have both homered on the same date 15 times in their professional careers. They did it twice in 2016, three times in 2017, twice in 2018 and six times in 2019. The last time the two brothers homered on the same day was May 16th. The first time Kevin and C.J. homered on the same date professionally was 5/27/15.     
The 6ix: Aces manager Chris Cron is a proud father. Tonight, he has a little more to smile about. His youngest son, Kevin Cron, hit his first Major League home run in a Diamondbacks 8-2 victory over the Blue Jays. C.J. Cron, Kevin's older brother, also hit his first career home run in Toronto (May 10, 2014). Chris has two career Major League hits. Both of which came while playing in the city of Toronto.
