Down by a single run in the bottom of the seventh inning, Aces outfielder Jamie Westbrook came to the plate with runners in scoring position. Westbrook, who had not recorded a hit in his last four starts, doubled home Ildemaro Vargas and Kevin Cron with a sinking line drive down the left-field line to give Reno a 6-5 advantage. With Jon Duplantier being recalled by the Arizona Diamondbacks this afternoon, right-hander Connor Grey got the spot start for manager Chris Cron in game one of the four-game series Thursday night. Grey spun four innings of four-run baseball and struck out three. Joey Krehbiel and Damien Magnifico worked some reliever magic with four innings of one-run ball while striking out six. The Aces will look for victory number two tomorrow night with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. Taylor Clarke is scheduled to get the start for Reno and face off against southpaw Conner Menez.
