Duvall Named Eastern League Player Of The Week

Third Baseman Leads League in Extra-Base Hits, Doubles
April 15, 2013

ALTOONA, PA - The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, are pleased to announce that 3B Adam Duvall has been selected as the first Eastern League Player of the Week for the 2013 season.  Duvall was chosen as the league's top player for the period of April 4th - April 14th

Duvall batted .378 (14-37) during the period, good for sixth in the circuit.  However, he currently tops the EL in extra-base hits (9) and doubles (6).  He also belted two home runs and drove in 10 runs.  At the end of the period, the 24-year old is riding a nine-game hit streak and has reached base safely in all 11 games that he has appeared in.

A native of Louisville, KY, Duvall was selected in the 11th round of the 2010 draft by the San Francisco Giants.  He is currently in his first season in Double-A, following a season in 2012 in which he hit 30 HRs and drove in 100 runs for the San Jose Giants.  His 30 HRs led the entire A-level classification and were a San Jose franchise record.
