Eastern League All-Star Game Roster Additions Announced

Five pitchers added to rosters for All-Star Game on July 10 at The Diamond

RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels, in conjunction with the Eastern League of Professional Baseball, announced the additions of five pitchers to the Eastern League All-Star Game rosters on Tuesday. RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels, in conjunction with the Eastern League of Professional Baseball, announced the additions of five pitchers to the Eastern League All-Star Game rosters on Tuesday. The All-Star Game will be held in Richmond at The Diamond on Wednesday, July 10, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Western Division Roster | Eastern Division Roster
Two pitchers, Hartford's Heath Holder and Trenton's Trevor Lane , have been added to the Eastern Division roster. Three pitchers are joining the Western Division roster, including Altoona's Beau Sulser and Erie's Alex Faedo and Drew Carlton.
The roster additions correspond with five previously announced players being unable to pitch, including Hartford's Logan Cozart (promoted to Triple-A), Trenton's Deivi Garcia (Futures Game), Altoona's James Marvel (promoted to Triple-A) and Erie's Matt Manning (Futures Game) and Casey Mize (injury).  
Holder has pitched 20 games, including three starts, for the Hartford Yard Goats. For the season, he is 4-2 with a 1.47 ERA and has added 54 strikeouts over 49.0 innings pitched. His ERA is third among relievers with at least 40.0 innings pitched in the Eastern League this year. Holder, a right-hander from Loganville, Ga., was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 25th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of the University of Georgia.
Lane has posted a 3-0 record with a 1.38 ERA in his 26 relief appearances for the Trenton Thunder this season. The left-hander has held opposing hitters to a .141 batting average and has compiled 40 strikeouts over 39.0 innings of work. Lane, a native of North Bend, Wash., was selected by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Sulser is 7-0 with a 1.40 ERA in his 20 relief appearances for the Altoona Curve in 2019. His seven wins this year are tied for the fifth-most overall in the Eastern League and tied for first among relievers. He leads all E.L. relievers with 51.1 innings pitched and is second among relievers with at least 40.0 innings pitched with his 1.40 ERA. Susler, a right-hander, is a native of Escondido, Calif., and was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 10th round in 2017 out of Dartmouth.
Faedo has gone 5-5 with a 3.36 ERA this season in his 15 starts for the Erie SeaWolves. The right-hander ranks second in the Eastern League with 94 strikeouts and tied for sixth with a 1.07 WHIP. A native of Tampa, Fla., Faedo is ranked by MLB.com as the Detroit Tigers' No. 9 prospect. Faedo was selected by the Tigers in the first round (18th overall) in the 2017 MLB Draft out of the University of Florida.
Carlton is 0-2 with a 1.66 ERA for the Erie SeaWolves in 2019 in his 26 appearances. The right-hander has struck out 38 batters over his 38.0 innings. A native of Lakeland, Fla., Carlton was selected in the 32nd round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of Florida State University.
