Funnville- The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, are excited to announce the franchise has been selected as the lone minor league club featured in the 2018 Topps Heritage Make YOUR Pro Debut contest. The contest, running from now through mid-February, allows fans to enter by finding special scratch off coded cards in hobby boxes of the 2018 Topps Heritage Minor League Baseball packs. The winner will suit up as a Flying Squirrels in 2019 for a one-of-a-kind fan experience that includes a one-day team contract and their own Topps trading card.

This will be a great way for this winning fan to experience not only being a Flying Squirrel for a day, but to experience the Richmond that we all love."
Fans can enter the Make Your Pro Debut contest by finding a scratch off code card in hobby boxes of 2018 Topps Heritage® Minor League Baseball, which is currently in stores. If they enter a winning code, they will be asked to answer five questions. Topps employees then judge those answers and one will be selected to make their Pro Debut
The winner will receive an honorary one-day contract with the Flying Squirrels. That contract includes a locker in the team clubhouse, an official Flying Squirrels uniform along with airfare and hotel accommodations in Richmond. Winners will also partake in batting practice infield/outfield drills and pre-game stretch and warm-ups with the team. Along with an honorary contract for a day, the winner will get their own Topps trading card in 2019 Topps® Pro Debut® Baseball.
This is the seventh year of the Make Your Pro Debut contest. Previous winners have suited up for the Durham Bulls, Corpus Christi Hooks, El Paso Chihuahuas, Aberdeen Ironbirds and the Fresno Grizzlies.
The Flying Squirrels operate at The Diamond in Richmond, Va. year-round. The team is currently preparing for a busy 2019 season that will feature the Eastern League All-Star Week. Details regarding All-Star Week in Richmond will be unveiled during an upcoming press conference scheduled for 2 p.m. on October 23 at the Diamond.
