Vote Vanessa Demske for 2013 MLB Fan Cave

Vanessa Demske is among the 52 finalists announced from thousands of applicants across the country in the annual MLB Fan Cave contest. Finalists are vying to win a coveted spot as a resident of the Fan Cave in New York City, where they will watch every game of the 2013 season and interact with players, celebrities and fans.

Vanessa, a 25-year-old copywriter from Novato, CA, is representing the Oakland Athletics in the Fan Cave Top 52. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Advertising, and has grown up going to ballgames throughout the country with friends and family. Her favorite memories of the Oakland A's are watching the Big Three - Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder, and Barry Zito - develop into aces, and of course, attending 2012 ALDS Games 3-through-5 at the Coliseum and waving her yellow rally towel until her arms ached.

Applicants were selected based on their social media prowess, creativity, personality and passion for the game. All applicants submitted a two-minute video explaining why they would be a good fit for the New York-based fan site sponsored by Major League Baseball. The 52 finalists will be narrowed to 30 on February 13, and those 30 will be flown to spring training in Arizona for the next phase of the contest. Of that group, nine will ultimately be selected to take up residence in the Fan Cave in New York City.
