CHARLESTON, S.C. - Break a leg and get out there; the Charleston RiverDogs are back in town celebrating their "175th season in dog years." After a week on the road to start the season, the RiverDogs are returning home to open their 25th season as the RiverDogs on the biggest stage, under the bright lights of Joe Riley Park.
Charleston's week at The Joe will feature a grand opening act on Thursday, April 12 against Kannapolis, a Saturday contest that promises to be "the most colorful night of the season," and plenty more as "Charleston's Youngest Historic Site" opens their gates for the first time in 2018.
Thursday, April 12, 7:05 p.m.: Opening Night at The Joe: The RiverDogs kick off their "175th season in dog years" in style, welcoming the honorable Mayor Tecklenburg and the veritable who's who of Charleston on a can't miss annual event in the Lowcountry. It's also a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95SX, featuring dollar beers and the scintillating tunes of DJ Natty Heavy in the Budweiser Ashley View Pub. Fans can win access to the new Club Budweiser lounge at The Joe by following 95SX and DJ Natty Heavy on social media and have a chance to win tickets to the May 25 Salute to Service Concert, featuring Brothers Osborne at The Joe. Get to the ballpark early for the extended pregame introductions. Fans will receive a RiverDogs 2018 schedule magnet while supplies last.
Friday, April 13, 7:05 p.m.: Friday Fireworks to "the Music of Musicals": The RiverDogs continue their grand opening act with a night celebrating the music of musicals, including during the first Home Telecom Fireworks extravaganza of the season in conjunction with WEZL. Sing along to your favorite showtunes all night long, including during the fireworks show. It's also a Red Shirt Friday honoring the military; fans that wear red save a buck at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Palmetto Military Support Group.
Saturday, April 14, 6:05 p.m.: Joseph P. Riley, Jr. and the Amazing Technicolor Ballpark: Don't miss the most colorful night of the season as the RiverDogs top last year's Silly String Night phenomenon with another spectacle not to be missed. Fans can enjoy a specialty tie-dye grilled cheese and a rainbow sugar funnel cake sold that night along with a kids coloring station and painting area. Fox Music will be providing a piano to be painted that night by Kris Manning, Co-Owner of Black Tie Music Academy and Co-Founder of The Music Battery. It's all leading up to the seventh-inning stretch when each fan will be given a packet of color powder that will transform The Joe into the most colorful ballpark in the country on a Saturday Live at The Joe, presented by NASH FM. RiverDogs fans can also get to The Joe early for pregame player autographs.

Sunday, April 15, 5:05 p.m.: Holy City Sunday/Kids Opening Day: The RiverDogs don the pinstripes and proudly display the city of Charleston's famous moniker on the Holy City Sunday of the season. Tying a bow on the RiverDogs' opening weekend, kids take center stage on Kids Opening Day as youth from the MUSC Children's Hospital run the show, trying their hand at everything from ticket taking to PA announcing, concession staffing to operating cameras, and more. As part of an MUSC Health Family Sunday, families can enjoy free parking and play pregame catch on the field. Members of the MUSC Health Kid's Club receive free admission, eat free, and run the bases postgame.
Monday, April 16, 7:05 p.m.: Dog Day: Move over kids, its man's best friend's night to shine on the first Monday Dog Day of the season. Charleston's four-legged fans will pack the park as their humans enjoy dollar beers and hot dogs presented by Busch Light on the first of eight canine-friendly games at Riley Park this season. Cheer on the RiverDogs with your dog while doggie bowls and pools keep your pup cool throughout an evening with entertainment catered towards the R'Dogs' biggest fans. As part of "Dogs with a Cause," the RiverDogs and Blackbaud, the local software and services leader for the global philanthropic community, will share the spotlight with local nonprofit Positive Strides, an advocate, education, and support organization for injured athletes.
Tuesday, April 17, 7:05 p.m.: Live and Local Tuesday: Celebrate Charleston's local scene every Live and Local Tuesday at The Joe. In the first installment of the newest weekly promotion, the RiverDogs welcome Chef Jeffrey Stoneberger of 2Nixons to host a local restaurant pop-up meal in Murray's Mezzanine. Tickets to the pop-up are available to fans with a limited supply of specialty tickets for $40. The popular blogger and social media personality Christian Senger, AKA the "Holy City Sinner," will be the first featured celebrity guest PA announcer. Fans can also sample local fare at the local farmer's market on the concourse and enjoy live music in partnership with 105.5 The Bridge all night long. Be sure to check out the Landshark Shack for weekly drink specials.
Wednesday, April 18, 11:00 a.m.: Education Day: It's Education Day at The Joe as the RiverDogs welcome students from around the Lowcountry. Approximately 5,000 local students and their teachers will play hooky for the day as the RiverDogs take on West Virginia. The Dogs will also break out their '94 purple and teal throwbacks to celebrate the club's inaugural season as part of "Way Back Wednesdays."
RiverDogs single-game tickets, including options to the Riley Park Club, are now available for the 2018 campaign, the club's 25th season as the RiverDogs and their "175th season in dog years."
