Fridays Continue to Be A Red Night at The Joe

Fans Will See Red as General Dynamics Land Systems-Force Protection Red Shirt Friday Returns
February 27, 2013

CHARLESTON, SC - Fridays will be all red at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park during the upcoming Charleston RiverDogs season as the popular family friendly General Dynamics Land Systems-Force Protection Red Shirt Friday returns for 2013. All fans who wear red shirts to the game on Friday will save $1 off the purchase of their ticket at the box office.  That dollar can then be donated to benefit the charity Canines for Veterans.

And to top things off, the RiverDogs players, manager and coaches will again wear specially-made red jerseys for every Friday night's home game.  This year's Friday jersey will feature a new red digital camouflage design.

"Fridays are a big night for the RiverDogs, thanks once again to General Dynamics Land Systems-Force Protection," said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols.  "Being able to salute and raise money for our nation's military is something that is important for us to do. Plus, fans can save money at the box office and still enjoy the fun and excitement that RiverDogs baseball offers every Friday night at The Joe."

As a side benefit for fans, those jerseys will be auctioned at the conclusion of the season with the proceeds benefitting Canines for Veterans, a Charleston based program that provides quality trained dogs to Veterans with disabilities.

"We're very pleased to be working with the RiverDogs again in 2013, and we're extremely grateful to be a partner of Red Shirt Fridays this year," said Canines for Veterans President Rick Hairston. "The RiverDogs do such much in the community, and they have allowed us a huge audience to get the word out about our program. We can't wait for the season to get started."

General Dynamics Land Systems-Force Protection is a global leader in the development and production of products that help protect our nation's military. The company employs hundreds at a plant in North Charleston who have a large presence at all the RiverDogs Friday home games. This year, one lucky employee of General Dynamics Land Systems-Force Protection will get a private tour of Riley Park, get to meet RiverDogs players and coaches, take in batting practice on the field pre-game, and will receive one of the special digi camo jerseys each Friday after the game as well.

Season tickets, mini-plans and group opportunities are currently on sale for the RiverDogs' 2013 season. The home portion of the schedule begins April 11 with a seven-game homestand that features the Augusta GreenJackets and the Rome Braves.
