CHARLESTON, S.C. - Returning for their penultimate homestand of the season, the first-place RiverDogs have some unfinished business in their final week-long stint at The Joe this year. Disney songs, fashion advice, and koozies will abound along with the absence of the sun as the RiverDogs settle in for a seven-day stint at Joe Riley Park from August 15-21.
The RiverDogs will welcome in the Greenville Drive in the final installment of the Spinx Battle of the Palmetto State and close with a four-game series against the Augusta GreenJackets during a week featuring another Wardrobe Wednesday giveaway, the last MUSC Health Family Sunday in the Holy City of the season and more.
Tuesday, August 15, 7:05pm: Trendy Tuesday- Fashion: From Crocs to socks with sandals, Zubaz to ponchos, the RiverDogs dole out hot takes on fashion trends of past and present in another edition of "Trendy Tuesdays" presented by Magic 107.3 and Z93 Jamz as the RiverDogs highlight a different trending topic each week at The Joe. Fans can strut their stuff with "Take Me Out Tuesday" ticket specials from Harris Teeter featuring two tickets, dinner, and drinks for just $20 at the gate, as well as Landshark specials throughout the game. A fashionable fan cam, grungy rock n' roll air guitar contest, a catwalk contest, and much more. With an 11-9 season series lead over the in-state foes, the Greenville Drive, the RiverDogs can clinch the season series presented by Spinx with a win over the Red Sox affiliate. Also, there will be a special pre-game ceremony to honor scout Jack Bowen, the 2017 Scout Hall of Fame inductee.

 

Wednesday, August 16, 7:05pm: Wardrobe Wednesday Drawstring Bag Giveaway: Your RiverDogs ensemble is nearly complete. Head to The Joe for another Wardrobe Wednesday giveaway presented by 103.5 WEZL and ABC News 4 as the first 500 fans through the gates will receive their very own RiverDogs drawstring bag as the RiverDogs take on the Drive in the Spinx Battle of the Palmetto State. The navy blue bag features the alternate Holy City 'HC' logo for fans to add to their collection as part of the season-long Wednesday night promotion. Seniors eat free on Wednesdays as well, and as always, seniors get to run (or stroll) the bases following the game.
Thursday, August 17, 7:05pm: Budweiser Thirsty Thursday/The Great Koozie Exchange: The summer is winding down and there are only two Budweiser Thirsty Thursdays left! Enjoy dollar beers in the Ashley View Pub with DJ Natty Heavy spinning tunes all night long as the RiverDogs and Drive wrap up the Spinx Battle of the Palmetto State. Bring a koozie, and swap it out for a new one to keep your Buds cool throughout the night in the "Great Koozie Exchange," the first of its kind at Riley Park. Everyone's favorite drink accessory will be featured throughout the night, including koozie trivia, a koozie toss and a few lucky fans going home with their very own RiverDogs koozies. Plus, make sure to use our custom Snapchat filter through the night as we enjoy one of the final Thirsty Thursdays of the season.
Friday, August 18, 7:05pm: Disney Sing Along Night/Home Telecom Fireworks: The Joe will become the happiest place on earth with everyone's favorite music playing all night long in a night of classic and current hits from Disney, culminating in a Home Telecom Friday Fireworks. Sing along through the ballgame on a night that will be a hit for kids and adults alike. The RiverDogs will wear their red uniforms for the final time this season on another Red Shirt Friday at The Joe. Mix 96 and Live 5 News encourage fans to wear red to show your support for the military and receive a $1 off your ticket at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Palmetto Military Support Group. Also, the RiverDogs will be auctioning off their red jerseys after the game, with the proceeds going to Palmetto Military Support Group.
Saturday, August 19, 6:05pm: Fox Fall Fanfest Ball Drop: Fox 24 and NASH FM presents another fun-filled Saturdays Live at The Joe. Fox and their local affiliate are bringing back a fan-favorite one more time this season with the final helicopter ball drop of the season. Trailers of their new upcoming television shows-- The Gifted, Ghosted, and The Orville --will be shown throughout the night. The ball drop will consist of thousands of bouncy balls falling onto the field and three pools, each representing a third of The Joe and one of the TV shows. An entire section of fans will win a prize if their pool collects the most bouncy balls and one lucky fan will walk out with $500 and a special VIP meet-and-greet of Fox on-air personalities.
Sunday, August 20, 5:05pm: MUSC Health Family Sunday in the Holy City/Charleston Southern Night/All Faiths Night: The RiverDogs welcome members of all faiths to join on the final MUSC Health Family Sunday in the Holy City of the season to celebrate Charleston's diverse religious community. Head to The Joe for an evening of family fun as the RiverDogs don their pinstriped uniforms and represent the Holy City. Fans can enjoy free parking and kids (12 and under) in the MUSC Health Kid's Club get in free, eat free, play pregame catch on the field, and run the bases postgame. Charleston Southern University will also partner with the RiverDogs as they team up to take part in the pregame festivities, first pitches, and in the between-inning fun throughout the game.
Monday, August 21, 4:05pm: Eclipse at the Park: Get to The Joe early to enjoy an event that hasn't occurred in 99 years. Live 5, Kickin 92.5 and Busch Light presents another Monday Dog Day and welcomes fans of all ages and interests to Charleston for the culmination of the nationwide coast-to-coast total eclipse. Get to the ballpark at 1pm and catch a front row seat for the full solar eclipse peaking at 2:46 pm over The Joe. And it's still a Monday, which means $1 beers and $1 hot dogs starting at 3pm at The Joe. All dogs are welcome to the park, but fans are encouraged to use their discretion of the effects of the eclipse. The eclipse is not the only sight to see, as the RiverDogs will be wearing their special black eclipse jerseys. These jerseys will be auctioned off during the game and can be taken right off one of the RiverDogs. Members from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center will be on hand to provide educational opportunities for fans young and old pregame and Stall High will be launching a massive weather balloon into the atmosphere at 1:15pm. Fans will receive special eclipse sunglasses as they enter through the gate. The first pitch is set for 4:05pm to close out the weeklong homestand. Also, fans are encouraged to visit RiverDogs.com/tickets to note different parking patterns and lot availabilities for this special day.
