Summerville Readers Select RiverDogs as "Best Sports Team"
In the newspaper's annual "Readers Choice Awards" issue that appeared on Jan. 23, the RiverDogs - the Class A affiliate of the 27-time World Champion New York Yankees - was voted the best sports team in the poll that involved approximately 25,000 readers.
"We are indeed proud to be named the 'Best Sports Team' in the Lowcountry by the Summerville Journal-Scene," said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. "We pride ourselves on customer-service while presenting wholesome family entertainment.
"Baseball has always been America's and the Lowcountry's pastime, and we get great delight in satisfying our customers," he added. "We try to make fans' visit to Riley Park an enjoyable experience, whether they are first-time visitors or season-ticket holders."
Through the RiverDogs' "Be Your Own Fan" marketing slogan and through action, the club prides itself on listening to the various fans' wants and desires in order to make their visit to Riley Park a fun and memorable one.
