Wade Boggs Meet & Greet Goes Online

RiverDogs to Auction Chance to Meet Hall of Fame Third Baseman
November 26, 2012
CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs have announced they will hold an online auction for the unique opportunity to rub shoulders with Hall of Fame third baseman Wade Boggs during a private meet and greet opportunity.

Boggs, who spent his 18-year baseball career primarily with the Boston Red Sox (1982-92), but also played for the New York Yankees (1993-97), with whom he won his only World Series, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1998-99), with whom he recorded his 3,000th career hit, will serve as the guest speaker for the 9th Annual Hot Stove Banquet that is staged by the Charleston RiverDogs.

The event, which will be held on Friday, February 1, in The Crystal Ballroom at the Charleston Marriott, is presented by Tom McQueeney State Farm Insurance.

The Hot Stove Banquet is an annual event that is hosted by the RiverDogs to keep the thrill and magic of baseball in the air throughout the off-season. Proceeds benefit The Citadel, College of Charleston and Charleston Southern baseball programs along with MUSC's Storm Eye Institute, the RiverDogs' primary charity.

The online auction for the meet and greet is currently open for bidding at www.riverdogs.com and will continue through noon Jan. 31. Fans can bid all week (every week) with the bidding closing at noon on each Friday. Each week there will be two winners.

During the meet and greet, winning bidders will have the chance to get autographs, photos and visit with the No. 95 ranked player on the Sporting News list of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players, and who was a nominee for the Major League Baseball All-Century Team.

For tickets to the Hot Stove Banquet and additional information about the online auction, please contact the RiverDogs at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or visit www.riverdogs.com.
