May 26, 2015

DURHAM, NC - Corey Brown hit a solo home run against Caleb Thielbar to lead off the seventh inning and the Durham Bulls beat the Rochester Red Wings 2-1 Tuesday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

The Red Wings (25-21) outhit the Bulls (26-22) 8-5 and Brown's hit was just the fourth of the game for Durham.

Casey Fien made his second rehab appearance with the Wings and tossed a perfect first inning with a strikeout on nine pitches. Lester Oliveros took over for Fien and had a solid outing, allowing one run in 3.1 innings with four strikeouts. Taylor Motter drove in the first run for Durham with a double against Logan Darnell to tie the game 1-1 in the fifth.

Rochester struggled to put together any consistent offense together against Dylan Floro (4-4) who gave up one run on an Oswaldo Arcia sacrifice fly in the third. He surrendered eight hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. The Wings finished 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.

Arcia appeared in his first rehab game, finishing 0-for-3 while driving in the lone run of the game for the Wings.

Brown's homer against Thielbar (2-2) hit the famous "Hit Bull Win Steak" sign in left field.

Doug Bernier walked with two outs in the ninth and stole second against Durham closer Ronald Belisario. Bernier was left stranded as Argenis Diaz flied out to end the game. Belisario recorded his second save in as many nights for the Bulls.

Both games in this series have been decided by one run and the loss drops the Wings to 5-11 in one-run games this season.
