The Red Wings jumped out to a 6-0 lead and then held on to beat the Worcester Red Sox, 6-4, Friday night to win their SEVENTH straight game.

The seven-game streak is the Wings (22-12) longest since June 2019.

Jefry Rodriguez made the start for the Wings, allowing only one hit and striking out four batters in the first four innings, but was pulled after giving up a home run and two walks. Jace Fry replaced and struck out Tristan Casas to get the Wings out of the jam.

Rochester opened up an early 6-0 lead thanks to a five-run fifth inning, but Worcester climbed back to make it 6-3 on a homer from Stewart and a double from Duran that brought in two more runs.

Wings center fielder Matt Lipka played well, tallying two hits and two runs in five at bats to bring him to nine hits on the season. Taylor Gushue also performed well with a run and an RBI.

Yolmer Sanchez homered in the ninth to make it 6-4, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Rochester’s early success, as Wings relieving pitcher Jordan Weems closed it out to earn the save.

Rochester has been historically dominant on fright night, going 10-4 in games on Friday the 13th since 2007.

Seeking their eighth straight win tomorrow, the Wings will see the field at 4:05 for game five of the Worcester series.
