Runs continue to be a precious commodity in the series between the RockHounds and Corpus Christi Hooks.

Tuesday, the Hooks scored in the third inning and went on to a 1-0 win. After that single run was scored, the clubs would play 12 scoreless frames, stretching until the seventh inning Wednesday, when the 'Hounds broke a scoreless tie. The Hooks answered in the home half of the seventh, then marched a RockHounds run in the 10th.   Corpus Christi then pushed home the game-winning run in the last of the 11th.

Zach Neal turned in (by any measure) a "quality start" for the RockHounds, going 7.0 innings and allowing one run (earned) on six hits and two walks, striking out seven. In six starts, Neal is 2-0, with a 2.04 ERA.

The 'Hounds broke the scoreless tie in the seventh on a Dusty Coleman single and stolen base, a Beau Taylor ground out (pushing Coleman to third) and a sacrifice fly from Darwin Perez. Corpus answered with a Ben Orloff leadoff single and Erik Castro's RBI double.

The 'Hounds had two runners on with one out in the eighth and ninth, but grounded into inning-ending double plays in both innings.

D'Arby Myers opened the 10th with a swinging bunt single and was pushed across following an Anthony Aliotti walk, a fielder's choice, and Jefry Marte's RBI ground out. Again, the Hooks came right back, tying the game again on a single from Castro, a sac bunt, and Ren Garcia's RBI single (against 'Hounds closer Kyler Newby).

The Hooks scored the game-winner when Domingo Santana walked to open the 11th and stole second, compounded by Beau Taylor's throwing error. Orloff's single past the drawn-in infield brought Santana home.

South Division
