Marksberry on the Mark, Braves Win 5-1

The Rome Braves (14-24) defeated the West Virginia Power (18-20) by a score of 5-1 before 1,696 fans Monday evening. Starter Matt Marksberry picks up his fourth straight win.

The Power got on the board in the first when Austin Meadows reached on a walk, advanced to second on a throwing error, and was sent home on single by Reese McGuire for the 1-0 score. West Virginia would not see the scoreboard for the rest of the night. The Braves scored three in the sixth inning on an RBI double by Jake Schrader, a two run single by Tanner Krietemeier, and an RBI single by Ross Wilson for the 4-1 lead. Rome added to the lead with a run in the seventh thanks to an RBI single by Johan Camargo for the 5-1 score.

Marksberry (4-6) gets the victory while Zack Von Rosenberg (1-2) is charged with the loss. Johan Camargo had two singles to extend his hitting streak to 15 games.
