Miracle Field Volunteers Needed

March 24, 2015

It's almost that time of year again, time for baseball at the Braves Miracle Field of Rome and volunteers are needed. The Braves Miracle Field of Rome has opportunities for individuals or groups such as civic clubs, athletic teams, etc., to volunteer in a unique setting.

Since the inaugural game at the Braves Miracle Field of Rome in April 2012, over 350 players have suited up to play baseball at this specialized park. Programming through a partnership with the Rome-Floyd County Parks & Recreation Authority allows for children and adults with mental & physical challenges to enjoy the game of baseball. Since its opening, a spring and fall league has been introduced as well as a school league which allows students from local special education classes to take part in the game of baseball on a safe and secure field. Volunteers are needed each game to assist in play, when needed, and to insure the safety of our athletes on the field.

On April 4th, we will host our pre-season practice at the field at 10am. Then the season will open up on Saturday April 11th at 10am. We play 2-3 games every Saturday through May 16th.

Please contact Erin Elrod at 706-368-9388 for more information or to volunteer this season.
