Parsons Has Solid Start as Rome Takes Savannah

For the second consecutive day, the Rome Braves defeated the Savannah Sand Gnats Wednesday by a 4-1 final score. Starter Wes Parsons pitched five shutout innings scattering six hits and striking out five en route to the win. 

Rome made it a 1-0 game in the first inning as Kyle Wren walked and later scored on an RBI ground out by Edison Sanchez. The Braves plated single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Wren and Joey Meneses each had RBI singles giving the Braves a 3-1 lead. Savannah posted their only run of the game in the eighth thanks to a run scoring single by Stefan Sabol but Rome answered in the bottom of the inning with a run for the 4-1 final.

Parsons (7-7) earns the win and Alex Wilson (8) gets the save. Savannah's Julian Hilario (7-7) gets the loss.
