August 9, 2014

The Rome Braves (21-27) fell to the Charleston RiverDogs (24-24) on Friday night by a score of 6-3.

The Braves jumped on the board in the third on an RBI single by Reed Harper and a run scoring sacrifice fly by Johan Camargo to take a 2-0 lead. Charleston answered in the fourth on a two run triple by Dustin Fowler and an RBI single by Jackson Valera for the 3-2 score. Rome tied the contest 3-3 in the bottom of the frame when Carlos Franco doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch, and was plated on a fielder's choice.

The game would remain tied until the top of the ninth when Kale Sumner blasted a two run double and Gosuke Katoh singled in a run to give the RiverDogs the 6-3 win as Rome would go quietly in the bottom of the ninth.

Giovanny Gallegos (5-4) gets the win while Richard Tate (4-4) is charged with the loss.
