2014 Rome Braves Field Staff Announced

Jonathan Schuerholz Named New Manager

The 2014 Rome Braves field staff has been announced and Jonathan Schuerholz becomes the team's new manager. Schuerholz, who will be entering his fourth season as a minor league manager, returns after playing in Rome in 2003 and six minor league seasons. He managed the Danville Braves for three seasons as well as the Gulf Coast League Braves. Previously, Schuerholz spent two seasons (2009-2010) as the Braves roving infield instructor. After retiring from professional baseball, Schuerholz returned to Auburn University to complete his bachelor's degree in business administration. He played infield for the Tigers from 2000-2002.    

"We welcome Jonathan back to Rome as our manager," says Rome General Manager Michael Dunn. "We look forward to a great season under Jonathan, Gabe, Kyle, and Bobby."

Joining Schuerholz is pitching coach Gabe Luckert who comes to Rome from Danville after spending six of the past seven seasons coaching in the Gulf Coast League. Bobby Moore returns as hitting coach. Moore, has been in Rome for nine of the past eleven seasons and spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons as hitting coach for the Lynchburg Hillcats. In his fourth season as a trainer in the organization, Kyle Damschroder returns to the Rome staff for his second consecutive season.

The Rome Braves home opener is April 10th versus Savannah. The Atlanta Braves play an exhibition game at State Mutual Stadium on Match 29th against the Braves future stars.
