Rain forced an early finish for Sunday’s series finale between the Rome Braves (42-53) and the Greenville Drive (51-44). The game was called after a rain delay in the middle of the seventh inning. At the time, Greenville was leading 6-0 over Rome at State Mutual Stadium.

Greenville plated two runs in the first, one run in the third, and three runs in the fourth inning to claim a 6-0 lead. Rome, on the other hand, had just one runner reach scoring position in the game. After getting aboard thanks to a fielder’s choice, Carlos Martinez advanced to second on a Garrison Schwartz single. No other R-Braves moved past first base on Sunday. The R-Braves picked up just five hits in the 6-0 loss.

A random storm cell passed over the stadium around 4:24 p.m. EDT, forcing a delay in the middle of the seventh inning. Within 15 minutes, State Mutual Stadium was filled with massive puddles behind home plate and in the outfield. The game was officially called at 4:54 p.m. EDT.

Martinez led the offense on Sunday afternoon, going 2-for-4. Michael Harris II (1-for-2), Andrew Moritz (1-for-2), and Schwartz (1-for-3) also recorded base-hits.

Mitch Stallings gave up three earned runs in three innings on six hits and two walks. He tallied three strikeouts of Drive batters. Davis Schwab pitched the fourth inning, allowing three earned runs on four hits. Benjamin Dum (3K) pitched two scoreless frames while Trey Riley (1IP, 1K) worked around the seventh inning with no harm done.
