FRISCO, TEXAS (July 3, 2013) - The Frisco RoughRiders fell to the Arkansas Travelers 2-1 Wednesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Recovering from early-game struggles, the Frisco defense didn't allow a run after the third.

Randal Grichuk lead off the first with a single to left, and advanced to second on a single by Taylor Lindsey. Luis Montanez then singled left to bring home the run as Arkansas (8-5, 41-41) took 1-0 lead.

In the third, Grichuk walked and later in the frame, C.J. Cron slammed a sac fly to center to bring home the run, extending the Travelers' lead 2-0.

The Roughriders' (6-7, 45-38) bats remained quiet until the fifth. With two outs, Ryan Strausborger doubled right and then Alejandro Selen knocked an RBI double to right-center to cut the Arkansas lead 2-1, which was the final score.

Rehabbing Rangers' reliever Joakim Soria pitched a perfect eighth. Soria is expected to make an appearance in Thursday's game.

Matt Oye (6-5) allowed one run on five hits and struck out three to earn the victory. Nick McBride (1-4) gave up two runs on five hits, walked three and struck out two to suffer the defeat. Elvin Ramirez struck out four in two innings to be credited with his first save.
