SPRINGDALE, Ark. (August 12, 2017) - Northwest Arkansas' Foster Griffin fired 7 2/3 quality innings and Jack Lopez had three RBIs, handing the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, a 4-2 loss Saturday night at Arvest Ballpark.
BIG MOMENTS

  • Northwest Arkansas starter Foster Griffin earned a quality start, permitting two runs on six hits over 7 2/3 frames in the victory. The Kansas City Royals' No. 6 prospect (MLB Pipeline) struck out four without allowing a walk.
  • Jack Lopez's two-out, two-strike, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh broke a 2-2 tie, vaulting the Naturals in front 4-2. Lopez finished the night with three RBIs, including one on a solo homer in the first inning.
  • Trailing 2-0 into the fifth, Michael O'Neill's single plated a pair to tie the game for the RoughRiders.

  • Isiah Kiner-Falefa recorded his team-leading 35th multi-hit game with a pair of singles, and Scott Heineman tallied his 24th such performance.
  • After getting swept in the first three games of the season series, Northwest Arkansas has won four of the past five head-to-head contests.
  • Thirteen of the Riders' past 15 games have been decided by three runs or fewer. In those games the Riders are averaging 2.5 runs per game.

The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and play their games at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. The team was founded in 2003 and has finished first among all Double-A franchises in attendance in each of the last 12 seasons (2005-2016).
