FRISCO, TEXAS (OCTOBER 2, 2013) - The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, have announced the schedule for the 2014 season. For the first time in three years, the RoughRiders will open the season at home when they host the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Thursday, April 3 at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
This marks the sixth time in 12 years that the RoughRiders have begun the season at home and the first time they have started a campaign with a series against Northwest Arkansas. The season-opening home stand will feature three games against the Naturals followed by a three-game series against the Arkansas Travelers.
After a six-game road trip, the RoughRiders return to Frisco for an eight-game home stand from April 17 - 24 against divisional opponents Corpus Christi and 2013 Texas League champion San Antonio.
Dr Pepper Ballpark will once again host postgame fireworks shows after every Friday night home game in 2014, with 11 shows currently scheduled. The RoughRiders will play four weekday day games next season, with 11:05 a.m. games slated for April 8, May 6, May 22 and June 10.
The club's final home stand will be played from August 30-September 1 against Midland. The regular season ends on September 1 (Labor Day) against the RockHounds with the Texas League playoffs scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 3.
