Summary
A three-run sixth inning in Game 1 and a four-run sixth inning in Game 2 for Altoona lead them to sweep the RubberDucks in the doubleheader by scores of 6-5 and 5-1 Saturday evening at Canal Park.

Turning Point
Altoona catcher Tomas Morales drilled a clutch RBI double off Akron reliever Cameron Hill to take a 6-5 lead in the sixth inning of Game 1. In Game 2, Altoona catcher Jin-De Jhang delivered a key RBI single in the sixth to extend their lead to 2-0. Altoona would capitalize on an Akron error and two wild pitches to push the score to 5-0.
Winging It
Akron all-star Thomas Pannone took the hill in Game 1 and worked 5.1 innings giving up six hits on three runs. Pannone gave up a run in each of the first two innings before settling in to work three scoreless innings. Leading 4-2 in the sixth, Akron turned to their all-star reliever Cameron Hill. Hill proceeded to give up a double to Altoona's Edwin Espinal and then a two-run homer to Jerrick Suiter to tie the game at four a piece. Curve catcher Tomas Morales would then double, scoring Wyatt Mathisen to give Altoona a 6-5 lead. In Game 2, Akron's Nick Pasquale had a solid outing, working five innings. Pasquale's lone mistake was giving up a solo home run to Altoona's Edwin Espinal.
Duck Tales
Eric Haase extended his hitting streak to nine games, when he doubled in the first inning of Game 1. Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the seventh in game one, the Ducks had the bases loaded. Outfielder Dorssys Paulino singled to right field to score Bobby Bradley but Mike Papi, the tying run was held up at third. Luigi Rodriguez then flew out to center field to end the game. Joe Sever went 2-4 with a double and two RBI in the Game 1 loss. The Ducks loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh when Todd Hankins singled. Juan De La Cruz and Jordan Smith followed with a pair of walks to make things interesting in Game 2. Yonathan Mendoza grounded into a 4-6 fielders choice, plating the first run for the Ducks.
