Summary
Akron's Connor Marabell cracked a timely, go-ahead, two-run home run in the seventh inning Wednesday night, helping the RubberDucks claim a 4-2 victory over the Altoona Curve at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio.

Turning Point
The RubberDucks (7-5) trailed, 2-1, entering the bottom of the seventh inning against Altoona right-handed reliever Logan Sendelbach (1-1). Mark Mathias led off with an infield hit to third base to bring the go-ahead run to the plate. Marabell was next and drilled a long home run to right-center field, his first Double-A homer, to give the Ducks a 3-2 lead.
Mound Presence
Aaron Civale started for Akron and, despite giving up 10 hits, allowed only two runs in 6.2 innings. Leandro Linares (2-1) relieved Civale with two outs in the seventh and promptly picked off Cole Tucker at first base to end the inning and strand a runner at third base. Linares tossed a scoreless eighth to protect the lead secured by the Marabell homer. Luke Eubank sealed the game with a perfect ninth for his first Double-A save.
Duck Tales
Marabell also reached on a double and walk to finish 2-3 on the night. He also erased two Altoona baserunners with throws from right field. He threw out Jason Martin for the final out in the sixth when Martin tried to stretch a two-out single into a double. In the top of the seventh, he made a perfect, one-bounce throw from right to nail Elvis Escobar as he tried to go first-to-third on Christian Kelley's RBI single. Both assists loomed large in the Akron victory.
