(AKRON, OHIO) January 25, 2017 - The Akron RubberDucks announced today new manager Mark Budzinski will be attending the upcoming inaugural RubberDucks Hot Stove Banquet, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Fri., Feb 3 at the Hilton Garden Inn - Akron. Budzinski joins a lineup that already includes Cleveland Indians Hall of Famer Carlos Baerga and Indians assistant general manager Carter Hawkins.
"We are excited to add manager Mark Budzinski to our already impressive Hot Stove Banquet program," said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander. "This is a great first opportunity for fans to meet Mark and to ask him about the 2017 RubberDucks."
Budzinski, who was an outfielder with the then-named Aeros from 1998-2000, said he was looking forward to the event, "I was fortunate to play in Akron in the late '90s. It's an awesome town with amazing fans and Canal Park is a great place for a ballgame," said Budzinski.
The Hot Stove Banquet doors open at 4:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour and silent auction, which will feature autographed items from current Indians and RubberDucks, as well as having amazing items such as a Canal Park Opening Night ticket from the ballpark's inaugural game in 1997, signed by that night's starting pitcher, former Indians pitcher Jaret Wright or a chance to sit in a suite for a 2017 Indians game with club Hall of Famer Mike Hargrove!
A full-plated meal and dessert begins at 6 p.m. (vegetarian option available), and the program and question-and-answer session will follow dinner. Attendees will have the opportunity to get autographs after the program's conclusion.

The Akron RubberDucks are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and defending Eastern League champions. The 2017 season will be the franchise's 21st since moving to Akron and its fourth since becoming the RubberDucks. The 20th year of Canal Park kicks off with the Home Opener on Thursday, April 6, at 6:35 p.m. vs. Bowie Baysox.
