Summary
Akron's Juan De La Cruz slapped a three-run double in his first Double-A at-bat, and right-hander Nick Pasquale tossed five shutout innings, as the RubberDucks defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 6-1, Tuesday afternoon at Canal Park.

Turning Point
Playing in his first game since being called up from Class-A Lake County, De La Cruz drilled a bases-clearing double to the right-center gap in the second inning off Richmond starter Sam Coonrod (1-4). The timely hit gave the RubberDucks a 3-0 lead.
Winging It
Pasquale (3-2) won his second straight start and lowered his ERA to 1.00 in three starts this month. On Tuesday, Pasquale allowed only three hits over five innings. He worked around three walks and fanned five batters. Cameron Hill worked three innings and allowed just one run on a solo homer by Richmond's Dylan Davis in the seventh. That run snapped a 13-inning scoreless streak for Hill. Right-hander Neil Holland closed out the game with a scoreless ninth.
Duck Tales
De La Cruz made his first start behind the plate and finished 1-3 on the day. Mark Mathias socked a two-run home run in the eighth inning to provide a pair of insurance runs. It was his first homer of the year. Todd Hankins was 2-3, with a walk, and collected just his second multi-hit game of the year. Luigi Rodriguez drove in the other RubberDucks run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
