According to the CA and OSHA COVID-19 Industry Guidance, sporting events at outdoor stadiums will be able to host fans under certain conditions and with a few adjustments in order to support a safe and clean environment for guests and workers.

Sutter Health Park and the River Cats have a tradition of being safe, clean, and fun for fans of all ages. We take our community health seriously and want to make sure that anyone who chooses to attend a River Cats game or other event feels safe and comfortable doing so. In order to do that, below are a few of the changes you will see based on the state guidelines mentioned.

CA/OSHA Guidelines: Venues are not permitted to provide will-call or sell tickets on the day of the event. In addition, touchless ticket scanners should be used whenever possible. For control measures, stadium operators must develop a strategy to verify contact information with ticket holders as contact tracing is an important step in slowing the spread of COVID-19. In response, the River Cats will move to mobile ticketing that may easily be managed through the River Cats app, MiLB First Pitch (download for iPhone and Android HERE), and tickets may be loaded onto your phone wallet prior to each homestand. As we get closer to the season, we will publish a Ticket Guidebook containing how-to information so you are ready to go when it comes to Mobile Ticketing.

CA/OSHA Guidelines: Encourage the use of credit cards and hands-free devices to avoid unnecessary passing and touching including transactions in the parking lots. In response, Sutter Health Park and the parking lots it operates (click to view list of Sutter Health Park operated parking lots) will no longer accept cash. Parking passes may be purchased in advance along with your tickets and credit cards will be accepted upon entry into the Sutter Health Park operated parking lots. Inside Sutter Health Park, cash may be exchanged for gift cards that may be used for tickets, merchandise, or food. Instructions on how to exchange cash for gift cards will be explained in the Ticket Guidebook we will publish closer to the season.

CA/OSHA Guidelines: In order to avoid touching attendees’ personal items, operators should consider enforcing a small clear bag policy and ask guests to open their own bags for inspection. In response, the River Cats and Sutter Health Park are planning to do just that. Clear bags will be available for purchase at the On Deck Shop soon. In the meantime, get geared up for the season, HERE.

These additional guidelines will be required until further notice by the State of California and Yolo County:

· Face Coverings – CA/OSHA Guidelines: Use of face coverings is mandatory throughout the stadium in all settings, unless actively eating or drinking in assigned seats or exempted per the CDPH Face Covering Guidance. Customers who do not comply should be removed from the facility immediately. In response, the River Cats and Sutter Health Park will encourage all fans and employees to bring and wear an appropriate face covering while inside the ballpark.

· Physical Distancing – CA/OSHA Guidelines: Implement measures to ensure physical distancing of at least six feet between people/households. This may require seating every other row or blocking off or removing seats. Seating capacity may be limited based on the current county Tier. Outdoor operations may operate at 20% capacity during Orange – Moderate – Tier 3 and 25% capacity during Yellow – Minimal – Tier 4. In response, the River Cats have been working with Ticketmaster to create a “pod” seating system that maximizes the available of physically distanced seating leaving seats on the aisle empty.

· Autograph Policy – CA/OSHA Guidelines: Discontinue “meet-and-greet”, autograph signing, VIP passes that allow guests to access back areas, etc. In response, the River Cats will discourage fans from asking players for autographs. The River Cats will explore other virtual meet-and-greet opportunities and experiences for our members.

· Food and Beverage Options – CA/OSHA Guidelines: Eating and drinking are permitted in assigned seats only. Concourse concessions areas must be closed, and all food and drinks must be delivered to guests in their seats. In response, the River Cats are researching mobile ordering options that will be accessible through the mobile app, MiLB First Pitch. iPhone and Android users can download the app HERE.

Game times TBA. Game dates subject to change.

We all have learned over this past year that things may change quickly and our hope is that change continues to happen in a positive way. However, before we are able to get back to that “normal” we all want, these are just a few steps we still have to take. We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause, but we sincerely thank you for choosing to join us in taking these steps together.

Again, we anticipate that guidelines will change throughout the season and we will do our best to communicate any potential impact or River Cats policy changes on and directly to our fans through email.
