West Sacramento, CA - With just over a month remaining in 2018, the Sacramento River Cats are already looking ahead to their 20th season of baseball in 2019. Today, the River Cats are eager to share their full 2019 schedule, complete with all home and road game times.
The River Cats kick off their 20th season in Sacramento with Opening Night on Thursday, April 4 at Raley Field as they welcome the division-rival Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle Mariners) for a five-game series. First pitch for the home opener is set for 7:05 p.m.
Sacramento will play host for a number of big holidays, including Easter Sunday (April 21), Cinco de Mayo (May 5), Mother's Day (May 12), Father's Day (June 16), Independence Eve (July 3), and the regular season finale on Labor Day (September 2).
The 2019 schedule is packed with 21 fireworks spectaculars - 11 Sutter Health Fireworks Saturdays and 10 Orange Friday Fireworks. The River Cats will also play 17 day games at Raley Field in 2019. Also, Monday-Wednesday night games in April and May will have a new first pitch time of 6:35 p.m. The full schedule, with game times for both home and road games, is now available online at rivercats.com. The Battle of the Bay rivalry heats back up for 2019 with the Las Vegas 51s (Oakland Athletics) visiting Sacramento for eight total games - a three-game set April 16-18 and five games May 29-June 2. The River Cats will play host to the division-rival Fresno Grizzlies (Washington Nationals) May 7-10 and July 11-14. Key interconference opponents for the upcoming season include the Iowa Cubs (Chicago Cubs) who will be in town June 15-18, and the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals) who will visit Raley Field August 7-9.
The All-Star break will take place from July 8-10 in El Paso, Texas at Southwest University Park, home of the El Paso Chihuahuas. The River Cats' final game of the regular season will be Monday, September 2 at home against the El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego Padres).
