SALEM, Virginia (October 1, 2019) - We've all been there, every year actually. The Salem Red Sox season inevitably draws to a close and for a time, we return to our televisions as the crisp fall blows in and the billowy blankets unfurl to catch some of the Big League action. Unfortunately, those days also run through like grains of sand, and as we see Mookie, JBJ, Devers and other Salem legends exit Fenway one last time, our minds begin to search for what could possibly fill the void.
The beauty of minor league baseball is the community. You see, even without physical baseball games, the staff remains and seeks ways to keep the Roanoke valley engaged because it's the people who keep the heartbeat of the ballpark pumping.
This year, the Salem Red Sox have planned the following activities during the offseason:

October 5th - Rowan Strong Celebration of Life
The Salem Red Sox are honored to host a night in memory of Rowan Price with all of her favorite things beginning at 5:30 PM. Attendees are encouraged to wear their #RowanStrong shirts or black and orange. The Price family is asking for a donation in the form of Barbies to be given to the Carillion Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. There will be donuts, snow cones and more for a night of community and remembrance of such a bright, young light.

October 19th - Movie Night at the Ballpark: Hocus Pocus
Gates open at 6:30 for this spooktacular 7:00 PM feature! Admission is free, with concessions available for purchase. Bring Fido for all the fun too as dogs are allowed on the concourse and general seating section (we just ask they stay off the field, please!). The Red Sox family is asking attendees to bring a donation towards the family of Northside High School baseball player Eli Klepper who has been battling a brain tumor.

October 26th - Sox Spooktacular
Bring your best costumes and biggest candy bags! From 4-6 PM at Haley Toyota Field, children and families are encouraged to come out and partake in all the hair-raising fun! There will be a costume contest, bounce houses and a Spooky-Good Sox Sale at the team store.
